BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Donald Ray “Snake” Adams, 54, of Bluefield, formerly of Man, departed this life Wednesday, October 3, 2012.
Born August 27, 1958, in Man, he was a son of the late Willie Frank and Nadine Adams. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Richard, Nathaniel, Tommy and Charles, and one sister, Evelyn Graham.
Snake was a graduate of Man High School where he was a star athlete lettering in football, basketball and baseball and had scholarships offers in all three sports; he choose to play football at WV State now WV State University. While in Man, he was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Kistler, and was skilled in auto mechanics, carpentry and the construction fields.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his four children, Donica M. Early, Talisha Sidney, Donald Adams Jr., and Kennedi Adams; two grandsons, David Early and Alfonzo Murphy Jr.; goddaughter, Dorothy Sidney; sisters, Dorothy Barrett, Mary McDonald, Juanita (Rev. Michael) Pollard, Valerie (Kris) Neuzel, Robin Conley, Deloris Patrick, LaTonya (John) Porter, Gwendolyn (Clarence Jr.) Sutton, Brenda Talley, Noami Freeman and Donna Adams Hattar; brothers, Willie F. (Sylvia) Adams Jr., Frank Adams, Dan (Ginger) Adams, Alonzo Adams, Carl Adams, Ted Adams, Orlando (Tracey) Adams, Christopher Adams and Michael (Jamie) Adams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Michael Pollard and Jeff Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will begin one prior to services Wednesday at the church.
