The Logan Middle School football team dropped to 4-3 on the season with Thursday night’s 30-8 loss at home to Point Pleasant in the annual LMS homecoming game at Logan Stadium.
The Timberwolves lost their third straight game with one more contest left to play.
“We came out very flat in the first half with a lot of sloppy tackling. We came out in the second half with heart and desire and never gave up. We need a win next week to force a three-way tie at the top of the Mid-Valley Conference,.” Logan coach Jared Voldness said.
Logan quarterback Noah Corbett completed 9-of-23 passes for 82 yards and one interception.
Receiving for the Timberwolves was Ty Browning with three catches for 36 yards. Daniel Browning had three receptions for 20 yards, while Jace Watkins had one grab for 15 yards. Braxton Goff added one catch for 10 yards. Jamal Minter had one catch for one yard.
Ty Browning led the rushing game with five carries for 39 yards. Corbett had six attempts for 24 yards, while Daniel Browning had two totes for 29 yards.
Trice Boatwright led the LMS defense with nine tackles, a fumble caused and two fumble recoveries, which one he returned for a 15-yard touchdown — Logan’s only score of the game.
Daniel Browning had eight tackles and a caused fumble. Darren Adams had five tackles and Ty Browning had four tackles with two hurries and a fumble recovery.
Braxton Goff and David Cruz each had four tackles with Cruz adding a caused fumble.
James Hunter had three tackles and Jace Watkins had two stops.
Minter had two tackles and a caused fumble for Logan. Brody Workman also added a tackle.
Next week, the Timberwolves will be home for Parent’s Night against Hurricane on Thursday with the game starting at 7 p.m. The JV team is slated to play Belfry at home on Tuesday night at 6:3o.
