BIG UGLY, W.Va. — Phyllis Mae Hatfield, 69, of Big Ugly, departed this life Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at her residence.
Born February 14, 1943, at Sarah Ann, she was a daughter of the late Homer Lee and Ruby Jewell Hunter. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ellison Hatfield; one brother, Calvin Lee Hunter, and one sister, Wilma Jewell Spaulding.
Phyllis enjoyed quilt making, crafts and visiting family.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Pamela Jewell (Johnny Dingess) of Chapmanville, and Dreama Dawn (Randy) Frye of Branchland; two sons, Danny Keith (Sabrina) Hatfield and Ellison Lee “Pete” Hatfield, both of Big Ugly; two sisters, Linda Kay Perry of Big Ugly and Martha (Tex) Fields of Accoville; two brothers, Danny Delano Hunter of Stollings and Clyde (Audrey) Hunter of Chapmanville; 11 grandchildren, Shaine Dingess, Misty Dials, Brandon Hatfield, Michael Craddock, Adam Watts, Daniel Hatfield, Candice Watts, Keisha Hatfield, Cody Hatfield, Madison Watts and Ethan Hatfield; six great-grandchildren, Waylon Hager, Sophia Griffith, Emily Griffith, Draven Hatfield, Hayden Mullins and Jacob Thompson; her niece and nephew that were there for her every day, Becky Hinkle and Homer Perry, and Renea Craddock and Della Pennington.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 21, at Freeman Funeral Home with Eric Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at Hunter Cemetery at Sawmill Road of Chapmanville.
Pallbearers will be Keith Hatfield, Ellison Hatfield, Brandon Hatfield, Daniel Hatfield, Cody Hatfield and Adam Watts.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
