NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. — Frederick Hamilton Thomason, 82 of New Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at his residence.
Born October 18, 1930, in Whitman, he was a son of the late Frederick and Zevia Dingess Perry. Also preceding him in death was his step-father Jack Perry, and two brothers John and Leonard Thomason.
Fred was a retired coal miner from Freeman Branch Mining at Lorado. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the American Legion.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara Chandler Thomason; his daughter, Lori (David) Brill; sisters, Mary Beth Morris of Poquoson, Va., and Jo Ann Perry of Johnson City, Tenn., and his two loving grandsons, Jacob and Hunter Brill.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 29, at Honaker Funeral Home with the Rev. Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
Pallbearers include David, Jacob, and Hunter Brill, Chris Sumdum, David Porter and Donnie Gibson. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Harper.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
