LOGAN, W.Va. — Jimmy Joe Vaughn, 79, of Logan, departed this life Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born June 4, 1933, he was a son of the late Frederick Christopher and Lilly McCalvin Vaughn. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Marie Toth, Ruth Ann Fonduk and Patty McCarty, and brothers, Douglas Vaughn, Bill Vaughn and Frederick Vaughn.
Jimmy was a member of the Central United Baptist Church. He was a lifelong mining electrician, retired from Elmac Corporation and owner of Vaughn’s Electric.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Betty Jo Elswick Vaughn; children, Annetta Vaughn Bannister, Jimmy Joe Vaughn Jr., and Brian Keith Vaughn; grandchildren, Amanda Bannister Deskins, Jennifer Bannister, Makayla Vaughn and Renick Vaughn, and great-grandchildren, Addison Deskins and Elijah Deskins.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at the Central United Baptist Church where funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with the Revs. Donnie Bannister, Rick Adkins and Randy Skeens officiating.
Pallbearers will be Glen Ables, Larry Brammer, Paul Evans, Donsil Mullins, Danny White, John Collins, Eddie Carpenter and Jason Carpenter.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dignity Hospice, P.O. Box 4304, Chapmanville, WV 25508.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
