VERDUNVILLE, W.Va. — Patrick “Butch” Preece, 48, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Verdunville, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Butch was the son of Aline Preece of Verdunville and Naaman “Jack” and Mary Preece of Whitman.
Preceding him in death was a brother-in-law, James Smith, and a nephew, Mitchell “Mitch” Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Donna; one son, Brandon (Courtney) of Lak; three daughters Corinna Grimes and Janelle Blair, both of Spokane, and Danelle Blair of Queensland, Australia; two sisters, Rita Smith of Logan and Shelia (Joe) Cain of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandsons, Dane Scott and Logan Sean; three granddaughters, Zoie, Kadence and Elise; two nephews, J.T. Smith and Chad Smith; one niece, Kayla Stonefield; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends who loved him dearly.
A special service to celebrate Butch’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 29, at Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville with Rev. Barney Goins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Honaker Funeral Home to defray final funeral expenses.
