LOGAN – Fingerprinting background checks are important for screening potential employees.PRIDE in Logan is now offering this service as a partner with Morpho Trust.
Morpho Trust, formerly L-1 Identity Solutions, was awarded a contract with the West Virginia State Police to offer electronic fingerprinting services in 15-20 sites in West Virginia. Having sites in various locations makes it more convenient for applicants to get the fingerprinting done, limits driving time to not more than 30 minutes and reduces expenses.
In late September, PRIDE in Logan became one of the partner sites. PRIDE provides the space and has four employees certified by Morpho Trust to complete the process. Morpho Trust provides the equipment, employee training and schedules the appointments.
PRIDE had 17 appointments the first day. According to Deena Toth, PRIDE’s Human Resource and Deputy Director, they have five to ten daily.
“It’s good for our agency to get people in here,” said Toth, “It’s also good for the people being fingerprinted not to have to drive further to have it done and the process is electronic so there is no ink or mess.”
According to information provided by Morpho Trust, the equipment used in the process overcomes challenges like dirty, dry or sweaty fingers and captures high quality electronic images with detail ideal for latent print comparison.
Any employer who needs fingerprinting services, or previously had them done through the West Virginia State Police, can now enroll for the service to be performed at PRIDE. For more information, employers can visit l1enrollment.com or call 855-766-7746.
