BLAIR, W.Va. — Easter Jewell Thompson, 76, of Blair, departed this life Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born April 12, 1936, in Chapmanville, she was a daughter of the later Frank and Lena Conley Cabell. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James Thompson; one daughter, Vickie Ball; four sisters, Brodie Dingess, Annie Spires, Mavis Walters and Causetta Dunch, and three brothers, Herman, Herdest and Charles Cabell.
Jewell enjoyed spending time with family and listening to Gospel music.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Lovetta (Tommy) Ball of Whitman, and Birdie Jewell Thompson and Robin Gail Thompson, both of Blair; four sons, Ricky Lahon of Huntington, Charles Franklin Lambert of Chapmanville, James Thompson Jr. of Logan and Ronnie Lee (Delania) Thompson of Ethel; 16 grandchildren, Tabithia Fields, James, Stephanie, Tommy Jr., Timmy and Chris Ball, Charles Aaron, Jonathan, and Waylon Lambert, Brian and Brianna Ball, Aaron Myhel, and Meranda Thompson, and Logan, Austin and Ethan Walker; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, December 6, at Freeman Funeral Home with John Godby officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Aaron and Jonathan Lambert, Aaron and Ronnie Thompson, and James and Timmy Ball.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
