PADDLE CREEK, W.Va. — Terry Lee “Turk” Grimmett, 68, of Paddle Creek passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, of a long illness.
Born July 6, 1944 at Christian, he was a son of the late Morma and Nina Grimmett. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Clayton “Old Man” Grimmett, Bill McQuithy, Jackie Grimmett and Bradley Grimmett; two sisters, Shirley Grimmett and Clara Decharme, and one grandson, Terry Lee Mosley, his namesake.
Terry was a respected coal miner of 31 years, a member of the UMWA Local 5850 and retired from Pittson Coal.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Grimmett; five sons, Jason (Erica) Grimmett, James “Judd” (Kay) Mosley, Sammy “Bo” (Erica) Mosley, and Teddy “Potsy” Robertson, all of Paddle Creek, and Melvin (Vickie) Mosley of Logan; four daughters, Crystal Grimmett (John Boy) Rogers of Paddle Creek, Cindy (Owen) Bailey of Mill Creek, Latira “Kricket” (Larry) Simpkins of Accoville, and Lisa (Lonnie) Maynard of McConnell; 24 grandchildren: Josh, Laura, Christopher, Levi, B.G., Hanna, James Tyler, John “Monkey”, Paige, Arron, David, Ashley, Sammy “The Boy”, Emily, Destiny, and 11 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Maci, Emma, Alyssa, Payton, Taylor, Allie, Christian, Paige, Isiah and Brayden.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, at Oak Grove Church with Brother Luther Dingess officiating. Burial will follow at the Terry Lee Mosley/Grimmett Cemetery at Paddle Creek.
Morris Funeral Home of Wayne is in charge of the arrangements.
