CHAPMANVILLE – The Town of Chapmanville has events scheduled for the holiday season beginning with the Sixth Annual Town of Chapmanville Community Dinner, which will be held on Friday, between noon and 6 p.m.Dec. 14, in the Town Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.
Recreation Director Sallie Stollings says this is a time for people in the community to come together for a good meal and time of fellowship.
“We just want to let the residents know how much they are appreciated,” said Stollings, “This is a small token of appreciation for all they do for us. We all work together for the good of the community.”
According to Stollings, an average of 150 drop by to socialize and enjoy the meal. This year, the dinner will be catered by The Logan Country Club.
The community will be hosting a couple of other events during the holidays. On Saturday, Dec. 15, singers from several churches in the community will go Christmas caroling throughout the neighborhood. The group will be leaving from the Municipal Building at 5 p.m.
At 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, a New Year’s Eve Watch Service will be held in the auditorium at the new Chapmanville Regional High School (CRHS). Change of Heart and Mike Upright will be singing and Johnny Slazo, Chad Neil, Daniel Hensley and Joey Kennedy will be preaching. The CRHS Prayer Club is actively promoting and assisting with the event.
