ROCKHOUSE, Ky. — Joseph Jackson “Jack” Robinette, 84, of Rockhouse, Ky., passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at his residence.
Born June 13, 1928, in Pike County, Ky., he was a son of the late Joseph “Joe” and Thelma Williamson Robinette. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Betty Robinette; brothers, Sammy Robinette and Luther Robinette; sisters, Okey Robinette and Marie, and step-son, Condar Robinette.
Jack was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA and a member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Ella Young Robinette; two sons, Joseph “Bud” (Sheila) Robinette of Chapmanville, and Gregory Joel (Sherry) Robinette of Holden; stepchildren, Bertha Jean (Danny) Reed of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Linda (Roger) May and Ronald (Priscilla) Robinette, both of Rockhouse; stepdaughter-in-law, Belinda Robinette of Rockhouse; brothers, Sonny Robinette of Deland, Fla., George Robinette of Florida, and Carl Robinette of North Carolina; sisters, Sandy, Lucille and Ann, all of Florida; three grandchildren, Kody Robinette, Jamie Robinette and Kara (Timmy) Wiley; six step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, Amelia Wiley; 11 step-great-grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 23, at Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church with Richard Staton, Danny Runyon, Albert Cable and Danny Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Robinette Cemetery at Varney, Ky., with Ronald Robinette, Danny Reed, Roger May, Clifton Robinette, Michael Johnson, Ronald Robinette Jr., Terry Reed Jr. and D.J. Robinette serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church with special services at 7 p.m. both nights.
