JEFFREY, W.Va. — Janet F. Blankenship Miles, 72, of Jeffrey, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 11, 2013, at Boone Memorial Hospital.
Born January 23, 1940, at Lake, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Myrtle Blankenship. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Harry Blankenship and Glen Blankenship, and one sister, Helen Ball.
Janet was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church. She retired from Boone Memorial Hospital with 30 years of service as a Medical Records Technician. She was a precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Maurice Miles; two daughters, Libby (Joey) Akers of North Carolina and Sherri (John) Bennett of Alabama; one son, Scott (Terri) Miles of Colorado; one sister, Nada Ellis of Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeff) Brannen and Tiffany Bennett, both of Alabama, Kelsey Jo Akers, Jodie Akers and Nicholle (Tim) McNabb, all of North Carolina, Tanner Miles of Colorado, and Shane Gragg of Mississippi; one great-grandson, Easton Miles Brannen of Colorado, and many loved ones and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, at Handley Funeral Home with Rev. Roger McCauley and Harold Ray Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens at Madison.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
