CRESTON, Ohio — Anna M. Scaggs, 75, of Creston, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013, at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
Born July 13, 1937, in Chapmanville, she was a daughter of Hansford and Susan Spence Pridemore. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Junior Pridemore.
Anna married Charlie Scaggs on July 4, 1955, and he survives. She had retired in 1999 from General Electric and had made her home in Creston since 1998. She was a member of Canaan Freewill Baptist Church and a former member of Cleveland Freewill Baptist Church. She loved going to church and gospel music; the church was her life.
Additional survivors include three children, Gregory (Joy) Scaggs of Lorain, Ohio, Sherry (James) Lucas of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Tammy (Dave) Butcher of Valley City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ryan and Alyssa Lucas and Kara and Brandon Butcher; her grand puppies, Hudson and Paisley; three brothers Jim (Mary) Pridemore of Chapmanville, Ed (Ruth) Pridemore of Alkol, and Robert Pridemore of Homosassa, Fla.; a sister, Milford Thompson of Parma Heights, Ohio, and life long friends, Alice Pack and Joann Harmon.
Services will be held at noon Monday at Canaan Freewill Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd., Creston, with Rev. James McComas officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
Murray Funeral Home of Creston, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
