Logan County Sheriff Sonya Porter has issued a warning about con men who are impersonating plain clothed police officers.
“There are several individuals in plain clothes going around the area at this time stating that they are with the Logan County Sheriff’s Department trying to either gain access to homes or obtain money,” Porter said in a press release. “Logan County Sheriff’s Department nor the Logan County Deputy Sheriff’s Association are soliciting for any programs at this time in Logan County.”
Porter urges residents that if a person or persons in plain clothes comes to your residence stating that they are with the Sheriff’s Department to contact 911 immediately.
“Please never allow these individuals in your home or give them any of your information or money” the release said.
Porter said the individuals were last seen in the Mud Fork area of Logan.
If anyone has any information relating to these individuals please contact the Logan County Sheriff’s Department or 911.
“As always, if you are a victim or if you any information or questions please contact us,” said Porter.
