NEW LEBANON, Ohio — Noah Robert Rockel, 64, of New Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, surrounded by friends and family.

Born in Dingess, he was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Jane Shrewsbury Rockel, and brothers, Scott and Ricky Rockel.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Glinda Sperry Rockel; daughter, Erika Zimpfer and grandchildren, Colton and Kylie Zimpfer; brothers, David (Connie) Rockel, Larry (Debbie) Rockel, and Mark (Peggy) Rockel; sisters Linda (Steve) Denny, Robin (Larry) Charles, Karen (Dennis) McCloud, Tonya (Benny) Browning and Debbie Muncy Rockel (Ricky), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Noah was a decorated Vietnam veteran and inducted into the Ohio Military Ohio Hall of Fame 2003. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star with “V” and multiple Purple Hearts. He will always remain a hero to his family, friends and a grateful nation.

A celebration of life will be held for all his family and friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Grace Baptist Church in Dingess and from 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 11, at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, Ohio.
