CHAPMANVILLE — The Chapmanville Middle School baseball team moved to 4-0 on the season with last Thursday’s 11-1 win at home over the George Washington Middle School Blue Devils at Chapmanville’s Ted Ellis Field.
The Blue Devils were held to one hit on the night.
The Tigers’ Joshua Zigmond pitched four complete innings, striking out five with no walks. He allowed one hit and hit two batters.
Conner Mullins, in his debut on the mound for the Tigers, threw the fifth inning. He had one strikeout and one walk.
Chris Bailey had two doubles on the night with three RBI.
Zigmond added two hits with two RBI and Mullins contributed two hits with one RBI.
Noah Dingess added a single and one RBI while Ryan Craddock added a single.
First-year CMS coach Dwight Dingess said any time you win it’s a good day at the ballpark.
“Our hitting is starting to come around. We had eight hits on the night,” he said.
The Tigers were slated to host Logan Middle School last Friday night but no score or statistics were available as of presstime on Monday.
