WHITMAN, W.Va. — Kenneth D. Johnson, 66, of Whitman, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Born May 5, 1946, in Logan, he was a son of the late Ira and Maude Johnson. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Molly Johnson; brothers, Ira Jr., Jack, Jerry and Neil Johnson, and one sister, Lila White.
Kenneth was a coal miner and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son, Jonathan David Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Kendra (Franklin Darby) Johnson of Whitman; sisters, Phyllis Sue Baxter of Vermillion, Ohio, and Linda Ferrell of Jeffrey; grandchildren, Christopher Kyle Johnson and Cory David Johnson, both of Tampa; one great-granddaughter, Mia Darby of Whitman, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held noon Thursday, April 11, at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.D. Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
