Logan County Sheriff Sonya Porter received a call about prostitution activity taking place in the Holden area and went to search the area.

Sheriff Porter encountered Jennifer Jarrell, 38, of Chapmanville, walking along the side of the road. The sheriff made contact with Jarrell and asked her to place her hands on the vehicle.

The criminal complaint says Jarrell thew her belongings on the ground and the sheriff performed the Terry Frisk (a brief search for a concealed weapon).

Found in Jarrell’s possession was a crack pipe with residue in it.

Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy J. A. Lyall arrived on scene, placed Jarrell under arrest and transported her to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Jarrell was charged with possession and obstructing.

Logan County Magistrate Dwight Williamson arraigned Jarrell and bond was set at $2,000.
