Logan Police Department officers responded to a call about someone throwing trash over the hill at Wilson Camp.

The officers saw the trash in the weeds when they arrived, then saw a red truck while they were driving on Pine Street and stopped it.

When they approached the vehicle and asked for driver’s license and vehicle information, Kevin William Sperry, 49, of Pine Street, told them he was going to clean up the trash he had thrown over the hill. Officers asked again for driver’s license and vehicle information and Sperry said he did not have a driver’s license.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle did not have insurance and the registration did not belong to the vehicle he was driving.

Sperry was arrested and charged with littering over 500 pounds, driving on a suspended license, improper registration and no insurance. His bond was set at $3,500.
