Logan tennis sending seven to state tourney

Members of the Logan High School tennis team are headed to the state tourney.

Several LHS players have qualified for the upcoming state tournament in the Charleston area after turning in good performances on Friday in the Class AAA Region 4 meet at Huntington’s Ritter Park.

Logan No. 1 girls singles player Lauren Chambers has made it to state, along with No. 2 Hayley Hatfield.

On the boys’ side, Logan No. 1 singles player Zack Hatfield has also qualified for the state tournament, along with LHS No. 2 Keith Williamson.

Three Logan doubles teams have also qualified for state. They are: girls’ No. 1 Chambers and Morgan Browning; boys’ No. 1 Williamson and Hatfield; and No. 2 Logan Adkins and Jacob Adkins.

Huntington High School dominated the regional tourney, claiming 12 singles and doubles crown missing out on just the girls No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Logan’s boys were second place in the region, while the girls were fourth.
