FLATWOODS, Ky. — Junior E. Walker, 83, of Flatwoods, Ky., passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at 1:50 a.m. at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
Born September 9, 1929, in Harts, he was a son of the late Albert and Ida May Plumley Walker. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Pauline Traylor Walker, and his son, Eddie Walker.
Junior was a retired machinist for CSX; a member of the Smith Lodge No. 775 in Flatwoods and was a 32nd degree Mason; he was an inventor; loved golf; was a wood worker and loved playing the banjo. He was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie (Ronnie) Cottrell of Webster, Ky., and Patricia Blevins of Morehead, Ky.; two sons, Ronnie (Kaye) Walker of Ashland and Gary (Ginger) Walker of South Point, Ohio; two brothers, Edward Walker and Ben Walker, both of California; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky., with Rev. Ken Gowin officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Walker Cemetery at Harts Creek.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral with Masonic Services being conducted at 7 p.m.
Evans Funeral Home of Raceland, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
