NORTH LEWISBURG, Ohio — Sidney “Carl” White, 72, of North Lewisburg, Ohio, and formerly of Rio Grande, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in his home.
Born November 29, 1940, in Logan, he was a son of the late James and Dursie Stevens White. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Richard, Ed and Billy Ray White, and nephew, Carl Edward White.
Carl served his country in the U.S. Navy. After 20 years of service, he retires as a Senior Chief. Carl enjoyed horseback riding, farming, and working on his tractor. His true passion was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Helen Starkey White; sons, Rodney White, Melvin (Holly) Lambert II and Jeffery (Kathy) Lambert; daughters, Laura (Ken) Gallant and Alisha (Randy) Olson; grandchildren, Chelsea, Daniel, Rowdy and Natalie Jo; brothers, Rex (Joyce) White and Bob (Janette) White; sisters, Janett Watkins, Minnie (Bill) Thorton, Mary Kraft and Juanita (John) Bishop, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, May 25, at Freshwater, McDonald, & Vernon Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery at North Lewisburg.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
