DINGESS, W.Va. — Doris L. Wilson, 81, of Dingess, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the ARH Skilled Nursing Facility at South Williamson, Ky.
Born February 2, 1932, in Dingess, she was a daughter of the late Compton B. and Jenny Likens Messer. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Byrd and Grant Messer, and sister, Virginia Louise Irving.
Doris was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Henry Wilson; special nephew, Kevin Wilson of Dingess; special niece, Kim May of McAndrews, Ky.; sisters, Pearl (Jess) Browning and Evalina (Bud) Lackey, both of Dingess; special caregivers, Carter and Barbara Wilson and Pat Sheppard, all of Dingess, and many additional nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Booth and Rev. Jimmy Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Family Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
