Local resident graduates from WVU School of Pharmacy

MORGANTOWN — Erica Knowles of Chapmanville was awarded a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.


Dr. Knowles is the daughter of Drs. Chuck and Linda Knowles. She is a graduate of Chapmanville High School. Dr. Knowles served as treasurer of the WVU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), social chair for the WVU chapter of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists-Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP-SSHP) and was a member of the Beta Eta chapter of the Kappa Psi co-educational pharmaceutical fraternity.


She was the recipient of the Rite Aid James K. Harman Memorial Scholarship and the Kenneth Stollings Memorial Scholarship. Knowles also achieved President’s and Dean’s List honors. The President’s List recognizes those who achieve a GPA of 4.0. The Dean’s list recognizes those who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.


At graduation, Knowles received the Mylan Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Pharmacy Award. She graduated summa cum laude and will be employed in community pharmacy practice.
