CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Kermit “Nouger” Baisden, 61, of Chapmanville, was born July 7, 1951, at Chapmanville, a son of the late Otta Mae Lilly and the step-son of the late Kermie Lilly. He departed this life Monday, June 17, 2013, at his residence.
Nouger was disabled, served as president of the Resident Association of the Chapmanville Towers for one year, and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed cooking, politics, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loyal and dedicated friend to many.
Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Homer and Elizabeth Rhodes, and one son, Jamie Baisden.
Survivors include his special companion of the last 37 years, Jill Mullins; children, Mike (Beth) Baisden of Chapmanville, Shawn Baisden of Florida, and Cyndi (Carson) Akers, Kermit “Zack” Baisden and Ray Collins, all of Julian; step-son, Andy (Dawn) Dingess of Chapmanville; siblings, Elizabeth (Larry) Felts and James “Bo” (Helen) Lilly; grandchildren, Jamie, Gavin and Dylan Baisden, Taylor and Dalton Baisden, Kayden and Ethan Ball, Devin Baisden and Shawn Baisden, and step-grandchildren, Alyx and Emma Bush.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Roger Dingess, minister, and Rev. Johnny Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Cemetery at Saw Mill Creek Road at Chapmanville.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
