CHARLESTON — West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced today he will host town hall meetings in Logan, Boone and Mingo counties on July 30th and 31st.
The Logan County town hall meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 30 in Room 104 of the Logan County Courthouse in Logan, 300 Stratton St. The Boone County town hall meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. July 30 in the County Commission Chambers at the Boone County Courthouse in Madison, 206 Court St.
The following evening, Attorney General Morrisey will host a town hall meeting in Mingo County. That meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 31 at the Williamson City Hall in Williamson, 107 E. Fourth Ave. All three events are open to the public.
“Logan, Boone, and Mingo counties, like many other West Virginia counties, have faced some difficult economic challenges in recent years. These town hall meetings are designed to discuss what stumbling blocks exist that keep businesses from growing or locating in the county and how the Attorney General’s Office may help to remove some of those barriers,” Morrisey stated.
“Economic growth is not a Democrat versus Republican issue, and helping to expand the economies of southern West Virginia should not be a partisan issue, either,” he added. “That’s why we hope everyone will come to these town hall meetings to share thoughts, ideas and concerns they have.”
Attorney General Morrisey said his Office can and should play a role in improving the state’s business climate by reviewing federal and state regulations to determine if any improvements can be made.
“I will take any necessary action to help move our economy forward, as West Virginians cannot afford for our state to fall further behind” Morrisey said. “The Attorney General possesses the legal power — through both legal opinions and legal actions — to significantly improve West Virginia’s business and regulatory climate, and my ultimate goal is to help West Virginia reach its economic potential.” Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by contacting the Office at 304-558-2021 or by e-mailing email@example.com.
