FRANKLIN FURNACE, Ohio — Big Sandy Superstore, a Top 60 Home Furnishings Retailer, based in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, held its first-ever Charity Bonanza Weekend last month.

This sale was designed around a “Discounts For Donations” principle, in which customers could choose to make a donation to a participating charity and receive a discount off of their purchase. Numerous charities, large and small, throughout the Tri-State area partnered with Big Sandy Superstore for this event.

“The response to our Charity Bonanza event was overwhelming,” Dan Evans, Director of Marketing for Big Sandy said, “As was the response from our employees and customers.”

Evans went on to say that the opportunity to give back to the local community is something that is important to Big Sandy Superstore and its Executive Team.

“The charities we teamed up with represent some of the most active charities in the communities in which we live. We are proud to support their goals and missions, by means of our donations. We are thrilled to be able to give back to our communities in such a profound way,” Evans said.

Evans reported that the total amount of donations raised through this Charity Bonanza event was nearly $9,000. The charity selected by the most customers was the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, from the American Cancer Society. Big Sandy presented that group donations of $1,675.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with so many wonderful charities. We also appreciate the generous support for these charities by our customers. We look forward to offering future charity events,” Evans said.
