The Central United Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary met Monday, August 12, along with the Men’s Fellowship of the church also attended.
Janet Doss welcomed everyone and opened with a scripture reading from John 10:7 and 9.
Prayer requests were taken and John Collins led the prayer.
Guest speaker was Beatrice Sias from Man with the LEAD Organization. Sias spoke about LEAD’s shoe project which gives a $30 voucher to less fortunate children to purchase new shoes to begin school in, as well as programs such as the soup kitchen on Mondays at PRIDE in Logan, Operation Santa, litter and tire removal, small home repairs and/or ramps for the elderly and cutting up fallen trees for heaters in wintertime. LEAD has made a great difference in the Logan and surrounding areas with volunteers. Organizers Kay Tomblin, Steve Hall, Richard O’jeda and many others have been working to build the LEAD organization. Hosting the meeting was Circle 4 with members Kay Browning, Lana Brammer, Geraldine Butler, Carole Hensley, Karen Jeffrey, Marlene Justice, Betty Lambert, Linda Markham, Pam Queen, Margaret Small, Betty Mullins, Jo Ann White, and Karen Wooten.
Carole Moore and her husband Jim celebrated their anniversary and Doss celebrated her 71st birthday in August.
Linda Markham read a couple of funny, inspiring stories about letters from camp and Leroy’s “hearing”.
The business portion included: Minutes read by Doss and Sue Farmer gave the treasury report.
Debbie Evans made the motion to release the Nominating Committee. The motion was seconded by Linda Markham and passed by unanimous vote. The Kitchen Remodeling Committee met July 11 and auxiliary circles will begin planning for activities to raise monies to help with this project. A revival to be held September 27-29 with speaker Rev. Todd Masters. Homecoming and “Old Fashion” will be held Sunday, September 29.
Amanda Baisden won the door prize.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Central United Baptist Church met again Monday, September 9 with Lana Collins, president, opening the meeting by welcoming everyone and reading from
Romans: 12: 2.
Myrtle David gave the opening prayer, and Margaret Small led the group in their theme song, “Love Lifted Me.”
After prayer requests were taken, Sharon Adams led prayer. Janet Doss gave the secretary’s report and Sue Farmer gave the treasury report.
Business included finalizing plans for the revival set for Sept. 27-29 and the Old Fashioned Homecoming Dinner set for Sunday, September 29. The auxiliary’s Fried Apple Pie project will be held October 7-9 and the Auxiliary will participate in the Food and Crafts at the Chief Logan Convention Center on October 18 from 4-9 p.m. and October 19 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Prayer Sisters will be announced in October for those interested.
Celebrating birthdays in September were Mary Ramey, Carole Hensley and Sharon Adams; Mary and Larry Ramey are celebrating their 45th anniversary.
Margaret Small sang “The Broken Vessel” and Tammy Blankenship gave the devotion from 2 Chronicles, Chapter 15.

Collins announced introduced the new officers: President: Lana Collins; Vice-President: Lana Brammer; Secretary: Janet Doss; Assistant Secretary: Pam Queen; Treasurer: Sue Farmer; Assistant Treasurer: Linda Williamson, and Publicity: Judy Hicks.
Lois Farmer won the door prize. Dismissal prayer and blessing for the food was given by Pat Maynard.
The next Ladies Auxiliary meeting will be held on October 14 at 7 p.m.
