The Man High School volleyball team held their own over the weekend at the Westside tournament as the Lady Billies were 2-3-1 and took third place in the multi-team tourney.
Man, now 9-5-1 on the season, began the tourney with a 2-0 win over Wyoming East. The Lady Billies then lost 2-0 to Class AAA Beckley Woodrow Wilson before tying River View 1-1. Man then lost 2-0 to Woodrow Wilson and 2-0 to Westside before winning 2-0 over county rival Logan.
The victory over Logan was the third win this season by Man over its 3A county rival.
Man had previously won 3-1 over Sherman last week heading into the tourney.
“Mika McCoy continued her steady play at the Westside tournament,” Man coach Orlando Washington said. “Hannah Harvey also had a good day for us. We’ve still got a lot of work to do and I think that we’ll get better.”
The Lady Billies were scheduled to return to action on Tuesday night at Wyoming East.
