The Ladies Auxiliary of the Central United Baptist Church met Mon., Nov. 11, 2013 at the Central Christian Center (CCC Building).
Lana Collins, president, opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.
“The Veteran’s Prayer” was read by Collins. Margaret Small led the ladies in “Love Lifted Me” and fellowship was enjoyed by all. Prayer requests were taken and Debbie Evans offered the prayer. Each circle sang a verse of “I Have Been Blessed” and all sang the chorus.
Evans gave a devotion on “Aprons and the Bible” and “History of the Apron”. Aprons have been used to protect, shelter, carry items such as apples, to wipe away tears, etc. Host Circle 3 made paper mini-aprons and Thanksgiving favors for the meeting. The ladies had been asked to wear their favorite apron to the meeting and Karen Wooten asked the ladies to share their “Favorite Apron Stories”.
Anniversaries for November was Karen and Bill Wooten.
Linda Williamson, Assistant Treasurer gave the treasurer’s report and Janet Doss, secretary, read the minutes. Both were approved.
Business discussed included the successful Craft Bazaar at the Convention Center and the Fried Pies Sale; “Breakfast with Santa” on Nov. 30, hosted by the youth group; plans to decorate the tree in the CCC Building and decorate the sanctuary; the church Christmas Dinner on Super Sunday, Dec. 8, and the Ladies Auxiliary/Men’s Fellowship dinner on Mon., Dec. 9th.
Lana Brammer made a motion that the Christmas Gift Exchange be set at $10. Motion was seconded by Betty Clark. Motion passed.
Jo Ann White reported that the Nursing Home was needed sweat pants and shirts for both women and men. Judy Hicks made a motion, seconded by Linda Williamson, that the Auxiliary help with this project. Motion passed, and a “Thank You” letter for donated items was received from the Veterans in Huntington. A motion to close the business session was made by Margaret Small and seconded by Julia Crum. Motion passed.
The door prizes were won by Irene Furrow and Myrtle David. The Dismissal Prayer was given by Mary Ramey.

The next meeting will be the Christmas meeting/dinner on Mon., Dec. 9.
