Some of the best entertainers in the area will be performing at the Coalfield Jamboree in the Christmas 2013 Concert and Toy Drive.

The Appalachian Children’s Theatre (ACT), along with Southern Coalition for the Arts (SCA), will sponsor two nights, Friday and Saturday, of Christmas entertainment. Organizers are asking those who attend the performance to make a monetary donation of any size and/or a new, unopened toy.

“We are donating all proceeds and all the toys that come in to local foster children in our area,” Rachel Noe-Maynard, president of ACT and SCA, said. “NECCO is handling those donations because they know where to take them too.”

Noe-Maynard said that NECCO has approximately 100 children in their foster care program.

A sampling of songs listed on the program include “Run, Run, Rudolph,” “O Holy Night,” “Blue Christmas,” and “Do They Know It Is Christmas Time?”.
