Harts Middle 7-1 after pounding on Duval

HARTS — The Harts Middle School boys’ basketball team improved its mark to 7-1 on the season with Monday night’s 46-11 blowout win over Lincoln County rival Duval.

Harts led 20-2 after the first quarter and never looked back.

The Lions led 21-5 at the half and then outscored Duval 20-2 in the third period to expand the lead to 41-7. A 5-4 edge in the fourth quarter then set the final score.

Drew Williamson led Harts with 22 points. He was 9-of-10 shooting for 2s and 1-for-5 from 3-point land. Williamson also had five assists and was 1-for-2 from the free throw line.

Kyle Browning also reached double digits in scoring with 11 points on the night.

C.J. Dalton had five points and five rebounds for Harts.

Hunter Brumfield added three points and four rebounds. Hunter Cook tallied three and Ty Sturm two.

Nick Eldridge finished with nine rebounds for the Lions. Zack Aldridge also had four boards.

Harts was scheduled to play Man Middle School on Thursday night, weather permitting.
