BETSY LAYNE — A Betsy Layne high school senior will be going on to the Ivy League after being accepted to study at Harvard University.

Dylan Meade, 18, says he has already accepted the school’s offer. He plans to pursue a degree in physics as an undergraduate at the prestigious university this fall, keeping his options for further specialization and specific career paths open as he finds his passions in the field.

“He’s an awesome young man, very well-rounded. You just couldn’t find a better kid,” said Vicky Ratliff, Betsy Layne High School’s guidance counselor.

For now, Meade has greatly enjoyed his time playing basketball for the Bobcats and currently spends his free time tinkering with computers, editing videos and playing video games.

The Meade family is awaiting information on financial aid from the school to arrive in the mail, while they plan a visit to the Cambridge campus near the end of the month.
