Over the weekend the Logan High School boys and girls tennis teams split in a tri-match against Point Pleasant and Hurricane.
The Logan boys are 10-9 on the season while the girls are 15-4.
The LHS girls defeated Point Pleasant 7-0 and the boys team won 6-1 over Point.
In the Logan-Point Pleasant girls’ match, LHS No. 1 singles player Lauren Chambers defeated Valerie Smith 8-0.
In the No. singles, Logan’s Haley Hatfield won 8-5 over Kelsey Albright.
Logan’s Morgan Browning then took an 8-4 win over Kaitlin Dunn in the No. 3.
Hanna Lester of Logan also won by default.
In doubles, Logan No. 1 Chambers and Browning won 8-3. Logan also took the No. 2 doubles match in a walkover.
In the boys’ singles against Point Pleasant, Logan No. 1 Keith Williamson was an 8-4 winner over Caleb Lee.
No. 2 Jacob Adkins of Logan was a winner by default.
Logan No. 3 Cameron Adkins took an 8-4 win over Anthony Brown.
Then in the No. 4 singles match, Logan’s Trevor Adkins won 9-8 in a 7-5 tiebreak over the Big Blacks’ Richard Haha.
In the boys doubles, Logan won two of the three matches in walkovers.
Browning and Tyler Moore of Logan lost 8-1 to Point Pleasant.
Also on Saturday, Logan’s girls lost 7-0 to Hurricane while the boys fell 4-3.
Williamson and Jacob Adkins, Logan’s No. 1 doubles team, was an 8-2 winner over Hurricane’s Kyle McKinght and Michael Phillips.
Williamson also won in singles action, 8-3 over McKinght. Adkins won 8-4 in his match.
The Logan boys and girls teams were slated to get back in action on Monday at Coonskin Park against St. Albans.
On Thursday, Logan has its Senior Night match against Spring Valley. On Friday, LHS plays against Nitro at home to finish the regular season before the regional tournament play is set to be played May 8-9 at Ritter Park in Huntington.
