Dignity Hospice, a home health provider that serves patients and family members in Logan, Mingo, Boone, Lincoln and Wayne Counties, is hosting their annual Golf Scramble fundraiser on Thursday, May 15 at Scarlet Oaks Golf Course in Hinton.

The event will kick off with lunch at noon and the golfing will begin at 1 p.m.

In years past, the event is usually held on a nine hole course, but this year the golfers will experience the full 18 holes, which gives room for more competition.

“We’re hoping to have 18 teams with four golfers each this year,” says Trina Lester, Hospice employee and event coordinator. “Scarlet Oaks Country Club has a bigger course than we’re used to, and we’re hoping to have more teams register this year.”

The Golf Scramble is the first of three major fundraising events of the year. In addition to food and golf, there will be a silent auction (in which there will be a framed autographed flag from the Greenbrier Classic), raffles (including tickets to watch a Cincinnati Reds game), a Hole in One Contest, Closest to the Pin Contest, an awards ceremony and player goodie bags.

Registration is $50 per individual or $300 for a team of four.

The two subsequent charity events will be a Hatfield and McCoy Trail Ride/Pig Roast in July and the annual Memorial Walk in September.
