Missing person found

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department released the information Thurs., September 4 that they were searching for a missing person.

On Wed., September 3 at approximately 2 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by a family member of Sherman David Walsh. The family member stated that Walsh left his residence at Monaville around 10 a.m. the previous Tuesday. Walsh was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue pants and a veteran hat.

Police reported that it was unknown if Walsh left on foot or in a vehicle, but according to family members, Walsh is an 81-year-old male in early stages of Dementia.

Thankfully, with the help of citizens around the county, the Sheriff’s Department located Welsh just a few hours after the search began.

LCSD released this statement: The Logan County Sheriff’s Department has located Mr. Sherman David Walsh. Deputies are on scene at this moment. Mr. Walsh was found in Logan County, WV and is in good health. Thanks to everyone that called in and assisted our department with locating him.
