MARION, Ohio — Elizabeth L. Jarrell, 80, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 6:55 a.m. in the Community Health Care Center.
Born February 17, 1929, in Logan County, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Virginia Shepherd Smith. Also preceding her in death was one grandson, one great-granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Elizabeth is a member of the Heritage Bible Wesleyan Church, a homemaker, and 57 year resident of Marion. On April 2, 1949 in West Virginia, she married Burgess Jarrell and he survives in Marion.
Additional survivors include four sons, Burgess H. (Linda) Jarrell of Kirkpatrick, Ohio, Elvin Ray (Penny) Jarrell of Byesville, Ohio, and James E. (Audrey) Jarrell and Allen Dale Jarrell, both of Marion; one daughter, Dora (Phillip) Orth of Marblehead, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service was held Thursday, November 19, in the Grand Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Gary Brueger officiating. No calling hours were observed.
Contributions in Elizabeth’s name may be made to the Heritage Christian School.
The Boyd-Born Funeral Home of Marion, Ohio, was in charge of the arrangements.
