This recipe is one of my all time favorite pasta dishes. It’s easy to put together and taste delicious. As much as I love cooking good ole Southern food, every now and again I like to fix Italian and Mexican dishes and I usually squeeze one or the other in at least once a week. Something as simple as a plate of taco’s can put a smile on my husbands face rather quickly, for me I prefer a good plate of pasta over taco’s any day of the week.

Creamy Sausage and Pasta Skillet

6 oz. bow tie pasta

1 T. olive oil

1 small onion, chopped

1 lb. italian sausage links, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

14.5 oz. can of diced italian style tomatoes

1/2 C. half & half

1 tsp. dried basil

2 T. parmesan cheese

Cook the pasta according to pkg. directions. Meanwhile, heat the oil over med. high heat and add in the onion, cook for 1 minute. Add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often, add the garlic and cook 1 minute longer. Reduce the heat to medium low and add the tomatoes with juice, half and half and basil. Cook for 10 minutes. Stir in the drained pasta and stir to coat in the sauce. Add the parmesan cheese just before serving.
