MAN — The June meeting of START (Seniors Taking Active Roles Today) was held June 25, 2015 at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church. Bright red tablecloths were the setting for the 4th of July decorations of cascading stars, shooting stars and United State flags in wooden boxes.
Gertie Moore was the lone birthday celebrant. She along with guests, Tena Simons, Goldie Whitt, and Gail Adkins, led members to the heavily laden lunch buffet.
Following the lunch, several announcements of interest to members were made. Seniors in the area were invited to the Pride Center that has now opened at Lorado. Lunch is served everyday between noon and 1 p.m.
Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist church invited members to the 4th of July Block Party that was held in the churchyard. The Stevenson Band provided music.
The Second Buffalo Creek Reunion will be held at the Justin McCoy Park on Buffalo Creek, Saturday, August 8. All former residents of the Creek are invited.
Door Prizes were awarded following the business meeting.

START will meet at noon Thurs., July 23, at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church.
