Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma hosts meeting

The Logan High School Junior ROTC students were special guests Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma meeting held October 5.


On Tuesday, October 5, the ladies of Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma gathered at St. Francis of Assisi church fellowship hall for the first meeting of the 2016 school year.

During that meeting the Logan High School Junior ROTC students were special guests. They joined the meeting and presented colors. Cadet Allisun McCoy delivered a short lesson to the sisters about flag etiquette. LHS JROTC is under the direction of First Sargent Kenneth Harvey.

During the meeting chapter Vice President Diana Clay presented a short program in memory of sister Anne Hatcher, and several ladies spoke during the memorial program to share their memories of working with this amazing teacher over the years.

All ladies of the chapter contributed to the refreshments, and student guests were invited to partake. Refreshments were organized by Jean Ray and the retirees from before 2000.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) is a professional honorary Society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education.

Theta Chapter is the Logan, West Virginia Chapter. The president of Theta Chapter is Laura Tracy Baisden.
