Teaching fire safety, prevention


The Verdunville Volunteer Fire Department, along with Logan High School Senior Corey France, visited Verdunville Elementary School Monday, October 12, to teach the students and staff about fire prevention and safety. The students met with Sparky the Fire Dog, and were entertained by Patches and Pumper. Each student received their own fire hat, goody bag, and certificate from the fire fighters. After the presentations, students participated in a fire drill. Presenting the program was, from left, LHS Senior Corey France, Nick Adams, Nick “Moose” Adams, Carl Harris, Windell Hunter, Shawn Hunter, Ricky Evans, and Josh Jeffrey.
