LOGAN — On Dec. 10, the DaVita Dialysis center in Logan donated $1000 to the LEAD Community Organization.
Facilities Administrator Kimberly Casey explained DaVita has been giving donations to local organizations every year since 2011.
“The DaVita Way of Giving has given over $7 million to charity. This year alone, we have given over $2 million. We just want to give back to the community. This year we have picked the LEAD Community Organization. The money is to stay within the community,” added Casey.
Casey explained other DaVita locations throughout the area have also donated to local charities.
Casey noted, “We always seeing the things LEAD is doing in the paper. Whether it be helping to clean up streams, giving shoe vouchers to children or helping people…I know they have the thrift store now and they are feeding people under the bridges. They are doing an awesome job in the community. It’s not just in Logan, but also in the surrounding communities.”
Kay Tomblin, from LEAD’s board of directors, was on hand to accept the check and noted that LEAD was honored to accept the donation.
