JUSTICE ADDITION, W.Va. — Students at Justice Elementary got a special music lesson Monday, December 7, 2015, when the Montclaire String Quartet visited.

The quartet presented a play called “Magical Musical Marionettes” in which marionette puppets were granted a wish by a fairy to come to life to perform. Students listened to classics such as “A Little Night Music” by Mozart,” “From the Diary of a Fly” by Mikrokosmos, and “The Orange Blossom Special” by Rouse. With each music selection, quartet members taught students about different elements of music including melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, pizzicato, tremolo, and glissando.

The Montclaire String Quartet is comprised of members from the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Current members of the quartet are Anton Shelepov, Cristian Fatu, Bernard Di Gregorio, and Andrea Di Gregorio.
