LOGAN, W.Va. — Logan Elementary presented its annual Christmas program on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the Coalfield Jamboree Theatre in downtown Logan. This year’s program featured musical numbers from the schools pre-kindergarten through second grade students before the third and fourth grade classes presented “A Holiday Hoedown.”
Prior to the start of the program the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Michelle Nelson, and an invocation was given by Isabella Propst. Pre-Kindergarten started off the musical performances with “The Snowman.” Kindergarten students performed “Holly Jolly Christmas;” “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” with soloist Lukas Justice; and “Must Be Santa” with soloists Aurora Smith, Aareona Fry, Easton Craddock, Scarlett Miller, and Tripp Thompson.
First grade classes sang “Jingle Bells,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” and “Angels among Us.” Featured soloists included Harrison Shanklin, Karli Thompson, Shelby Mullins, and Jazzmyn Adams. “Up on the Housetop,” “The Christmas Song,” and “A Christmas Letter” were performed by the schools second graders. Soloists included Cameran Arthur and Lindsay Mahone.
The third and fourth grade’s presentation of “A Holiday Hoedown” featured Jasonna Thomas as Dolly, Kelsie Greene as Minnie Pearl, Griffin Frye as Santa, Hillary Gore as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kade Muncy as Tex, and Caitlyn White as Mrs. Claus. Soloists included Isabella Propst, Harlee Quick, Madison Adams, and Jason Finley.
