MAN, W.Va. — START (Seniors Taking Active Roles Today) held their March meeting at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church on March 17, 2016. The Easter Bunny served at the chief decorator for the event. Pastel table covers on each table sported a basket filled with colored eggs. There were standing cutouts of bunnies and painted eggs. Ceramic figurines of Easter Bunnies were resting on the tables.
Following the blessing for the food lunch was enjoyed. March birthdays were recognized and those celebrating were Lessie Bailey, Pauline Jeffery and Mae Osborne.
Ms. Lana Hatfield from WVU Eye Institute and the Larry Joe Harless Community Center explained the eye screening she and her associates would be performing for any in attendance following the meeting. She explained that an eye doctor would review his or her findings and a report with the doctor’s recommendations would be sent to each person.
Minutes of the February meeting were read and a treasurer’s report was given. It was announced that the 10th ‘Man on the Move’ walk would be held Saturday, April 23, with registration beginning at 9 a.m.
It was announced that Peni Adams from the W.Va. Attorney General’s office would be attending the April meeting and speaking of “scams” facing West Virginia citizens.

START will meet Thursday, April 28, at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church in South Man. Seniors are welcome to attend.
