The fourth-grade students at Omar Elementary have been hard at work learning about different aspects of the coal industry at how it affects our region’s culture.
Students displayed their work and research during this week’s CEDAR Regional Coal Fair. The event, coordinated along with the school’s educational partner Coal-Mac, showcased the student’s projects. Topics featured included Art, Music, English, Math, Technology, Science, and Social Studies within the coal industry.
Fair coordinator and fourth-grade teacher, Ms. Velma Starr, said “The students made Omar Elementary proud, as always!”
Also, this week the CEDAR Regional Coal Fair participants had the opportunity to be interviewed by WVOW radio and SWVCTC at the Chief Logan Convention Center.
