MAN, W.Va. — Healthy Logan County, an organization that meets on the fourth Friday of each month at the Buffalo Creek Memorial Library, is encouraging everyone to become more active.

Healthy Logan County participated in the 10th Annual Man on the Move Walk held April 23, where they did blood glucose checks.

“We would like to invite everyone to join the walking group Mayor on the Move that meets at the library at 9 a.m. every Saturday morning or our newest walking group that will meet at the Justin McCoy Memorial Park on Buffalo Creek and will be walking at the same time,” Elizabeth Tackett, Buffalo Creek Memorial Library librarian, said. “We are also pleased to announce our sponsorship of the Kids on the Move walk/fun fitness day that will be held on Saturday, May 21 at the Buffalo Creek Memorial Library.”

Registration for Kids on the Move will begin at 10 a.m. and the walk/fun will begin at 11 a.m. The first 50 kids will be given a free Kids on the Move t-shirt and prizes will be awarded for participation in the activities. Education will be provided on “Rethink Your Drink”, a program explaining the importance of limiting your sugar intake and promoting the drinking of water.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the Healthy Logan County organization, call the library at 304-583-7887 or message them on Facebook at Healthy Logan County.
