LOGAN, W.Va. — Logan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary hosted a luncheon Saturday, April 16, in the fellowship hall of Church of the Nazarene at Logan.
The meeting was called to order by President Pat Joe White and opened with Nancy Craft leading the members in reading “Prayer for Auxiliaries in Hospitals”. A lunch, catered by Granny Jack’s, was enjoyed by all the members.
A moment of silence was held in honor and memory of Joyce Childers, a faithful and loyal member who passed away.
Auxilians celebrating birthdays during April, May and June were recognized. Those with birthdays in April were Gay Cook, Annie Johnson and Macelene Smith; May birthdays were Bertha Forsha, Hessie Gunnells, Peggy Heatherman, and Betty Spears; June was Nora Willis.
A special treat was given to each member in recognition of National Volunteer Week, which was a gift packet entitled “Whooo Makes a Difference? Volunteers Like Youuuu!”
A slate of officers for 2016-2017 was presented by the Nominating Committee. Members of the Nominating Committee are Pauline Fortune, Chairperson, Carol Moore and Diana Townsend.
Parliamentarian Alice Cheek conducted the election of officers and those elected were: President — Pat Joe White; First Vice President — Nancy Craft; Second Vice President — Barbara Meade; Secretary — Margaret Shriver; Treasurer — Midge Cox, and Co-Treasurer — Pauline Fortune.
White thanked and expressed his appreciation to all the auxiliary members for their hard work. He also announced the Auxiliary would honor Logan Regional Medical Center, its officers and employees with a reception in the cafeteria Thursday, May 12, during National Hospital Week.
The meeting was adjourned with Meade leading the members in the reading of the “Auxiliary Pledge”.
