NORTH MITCHELL HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Clifford ‘Chick’ and Freda Browning, residents of North Mitchell Heights, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Wednesday, June 8, 2016. The couple was married June 8, 1946, in the Logan area, where they have resided their entire lives.
During their careers, Mr. Browning fought in the South Pacific during World War II as a radio-gunner on a B24 and in civilian life worked as a coal miner. Mrs. Browning co-owned and operated food markets with her husband.
The Browning’s are the parents of three children, Davey Dean Browning of the Dayton, Ohio, area, Patricia Ann Coffin of the Atlanta, Ga., area and the late Linda Sue Christian of Chapmanville. They have seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
