Genealogy society hosts picnic

HENLAWSON, W.Va. — The Logan County Genealogical Society held their monthly meeting and annual picnic on June 18 at Chief Logan State Park. Members, family, and friends met to discuss the role of DNA testing in genealogical research, recent changes to Family Tree software, and other topics of interest to the genealogist.

Those who attended the festivities and also enjoyed a meal were: Kelli Chafin, Susan Muncey, Cuba Gore, Jerri Amburgey, Tristan Ellis, Dana Whitt, Lucille Whitt, Christine Browning, Hester Baisden Hodges, Barbara Morris, Ashley Carroll, Kathy Carroll, Linda Baisden Bryant, Kaylee Dotson and President of the Society, Anthony Kirk.

The next meeting is Monday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Logan Area Public Library. Everyone interested in researching family history is welcome to attend.
